About Informational Meetings

Informational meetings occur for two hours on a weekday night, and usually involve a formal presentation.

If you are likely to attend the meeting, you can vote for your favorite topic.

Locations

Our meetings occur at various locations:

The Knowledge Shop.

The Knowledge Shop
1000 N. Orlando Ave
Suite C in Corporate Square
Corner of Lee Road and 17/92
Winter Park, FL
  • Get to the corner of Lee Road and 17/92 in Winter Park
  • North on 17/92 (Orlando Ave) 1 block to Friends Ave
    • WARNING
If you turn left from Lee Road onto 17/92, you MUST turn into the left lane of 17/92, because the right lane of 17/92 is always green, and if you turn into the right lane you're likely to crash! Once in the left lane, merge quickly right to turn onto Friends Ave a block later.
  • East on Friends Ave 1.5 blocks, past Galloway, to parking lot entrance
  • South into parking lot, then park

To get from the parking lot to the meeting, walk west across Friends Ave, around the south end of the Corporate Square complex, until you get to the southernmost Corporate Square storefront along 17/92. See map below:

Getting to the corner of Lee and 17/92 in Winter Park. See the map below the directions. Note that Mapquest doesn't find 1000 N. Orlando Avenue, so you need to use the map below the directions.

Getting to the corner of 17/92 and 436 in Casselberry
From UCF

Note: I've found this is by far the best route, any time of day or night.

  • West on University Blvd roughly 4 miles to Hall Road
  • Northwest on Hall Road about a mile. At that point, at the intersection of 426, Hall changes its name to Howell Branch Road.
  • Continue North-Northwest and then West on Howell Branch Road, approximately 4 miles, to 436 (Semoran Blvd)
  • Northwest, and then West on 436, almost 3 miles, to Oxford Road
  • North (right) on Oxford Road 2 blocks to the library
From downtown Orlando via 17/92
  • 17/92 North-northwest to 436 (Semoran Blvd)
  • 436 East 2 blocks to Oxford
  • Oxford North 2 blocks to the library
From downtown Orlando via I4
  • I4 north to Exit 92 (436). [Note: from downtown get on I4 East, which really goes North]
  • East about 3 miles on 436, and cross 17/92.
  • Continue on about 2 blocks on 436 to Oxford Road.
  • Oxford North 2 blocks to the library
From Altamonte, Wekiva, Apopka

  • Continue on about 2 blocks on 436 to Oxford Road.
  • Oxford North 2 blocks to the library.

FutureQuest Mapquest

Warning: Mapquest doesn't do well with one way streets. Kevin Korb's directions will probably suit you better.

FutureQuest
100 West Lucerne Circle
Orlando 32801

From I4
  • Exit I4 at Anderson.
  • Turn right on Orange ave (first or second light depending on which way you were going in I4).
  • Turn right on Lucerne cir. (first light) Note that you are essentially driving around the OUC building which is on the corner.
  • Turn right into Lucerne Plaza which is the building right after the SR408 on ramp.

from 441/OBT:
  • Turn onto Gore st. towards downtown.
  • Turn left onto Orange ave. (also towards downtown)
  • Turn left onto Lucerne cir.  This is the confusing part...  Lucerne circle doesn't have a traffic light.  It is a left lane the forks off from Orange ave. that runs around lake Lucerne.  The street is actually labeled SR408 instead of Lucerne cir. because the on ramp is there and in fact Lucerne cir. looks like an on ramp.
  • After you pass the actual SR408 on ramp turn left into Lucerne Plaza.
General Notes
Downtown has many 1 way streets. East/west streets include Anderson and South Street, which are north of 408 and therefore north of Futurequest. Anderson is 1 way east, while South Street is 1 way west. South of the 408, Gore street is 2 ways. Here is a partial map:
